Credit Today recently we gathered the top minds in credit reporting, the top risk managers at the largest credit insurers in the world, and other credit leaders together in a room in New Jersey to talk about what's going on in the "real world." Here are their bios: Robert F. Carbonell
Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer
Bernard Sands Credit ConsultantsCarbonell joined Dun & Bradstreet in 1968, serving in all levels of credit reporting including five years as a Senior Business Analyst. He was promoted to Divisional Operations Manager in 1980, supervising a staff of 13 credit reporters in New York City. He joined the National Credit Office Division of Dun & Bradstreet in July 1982 as a Senior Industry Consultant in the computer & electronics industries. At NCO, he prepared high-level credit reports on major manufacturing firms while also supervising credit interchange groups until the closing of NCO in December 1986. In January 1987, he joined the Credit Clearing House Division of Dun & Bradstreet as a Senior Industry Consultant in the apparel Industry. In this position provided customers with solutions to their most difficult credit decisions and also supervised the operation of credit interchange groups in the apparel, hosiery, domestic furnishings, and western wear industries. In June 1988, he became Director of Credit-Credit Clearing House. In this position was responsible for all major credit decisions in the apparel and related industries while supervising a staff of seven consultants. In 1992, he assumed the additional post of Director - Credit Interchange and assumed responsibility for over fifty DUNSCITE credit interchange groups nationwide. On November 16, 1998, he joined Bernard Sands Credit Consultants as Vice President & Director of Credit and was later promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Credit Officer. Carbonell is a lifetime resident of New York City where he resides with his wife Lynne and two children. He has been active in local youth sports groups for many years, is an Amateur Radio operator and a member of State Senator Seraphin Maltese's District Veterans Advisory Council.
Doug Collins

Atradius Trade Credit InsuranceDoug Collins has been involved with all facets of Trade Credit Insurance since entering the industry in 1994, including risk and policy underwriting, claims, and distribution channel development. Doug's career path includes living and/or working in North America, Asia and Europe to develop the potential of Trade Credit Insurance as a worldwide product. Currently based in Baltimore, Maryland as the Regional Director - Risk Services, Doug oversees Atradius' risk underwriting and claims activities in North America. Prior to entering the Trade Credit Insurance industry, Doug pursued a career in Commercial & Corporate Banking while employed at Bank of Montreal in Toronto, Canada. He graduated from Queen's University School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
Jerry Flum
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer

Was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CreditRiskMonitor in June 1985. From 1968 to 1985, he was in the investment business as an institutional security analyst, research and sales partner at an investment firm and remains a general partner of a private investment pool. Before entering the investment business Mr. Flum practiced law, helped manage a U.S. congressional campaign and served as a legal and legislative aide to a U.S. congressman. Mr. Flum has been a guest lecturer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Sloan School of Management Lab for Financial Engineering. Mr. Flum received a BS degree in Business Administration from Babson College and a JD degree from Georgetown University Law School. He also served as a L/corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Global Credit Services, LLCPhil Gootee joined Global Credit Services, LLC ("GCS") as the President of the Company in October 2008. Mr. Gootee has 40 years of credit risk management experience which spans several industries and covers wholesale trade credit, asset base lending; factoring and field warehousing. Mr. Gootee has been retained as the lead consultant for the Unsecured Creditors' Committees in major bankruptcy actions. He has provided expert witness testimony on behalf of unsecured steel suppliers, which enabled them to assert and perfect their mechanic lien rights as a superior lien against other secured creditors claiming rights to the inventory. Mr. Gootee was a very active member of the Houston Texas Venture Capital Community and experience significant success in the areas of workouts and turnarounds. Mr. Gootee was a guest lecturer for the University of Houston's Executive MBA Program for over ten years. He also designed and presented a lecture series entitled "Financing Your Business" for the University of Houston's Small Business Development Center. Phil's series became a part of the SBDC's curriculum and has been presented to over 8,000 small companies. Prior to joining GCS, Phil served as Director of Credit & Risk Management for the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator ("MISO"). Immediately prior to this assignment, he held a similar position with the New York Independent Transmission System Operator. Mr. Gootee worked closely with the Credit Practices Working Groups, consisting of the Credit and Finance Managers of over 50 market participants, in the development and implementation of the credit policies and procedures currently employed at both of these organizations. These are two of the leading wholesale market operators in the Electric Utility Industry. Together they facilitate annual market transactions exceeding $60 billion dollars. Chris' experience includes various roles in marketing, sales and business development with Procter & Gamble, Open Market and HighWired.com.Chris completed his B.A. in North American Studies at McGill University and his M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.

CreditPointe John LaRocca brings his vast experiences as a senior credit, computer and printer sales, equipment leasing and operations executive to CreditPointe.
John is a founding partner with Quote To Cash Solutions ("Q2C"). As both a process expert and expert witness, John has worked with companies and government agencies internationally. He was president and CEO of LeasingX, an equipment leasing auction marketplace, and earlier was senior vice president of customer care, operations and information systems at both De Lage Landen Financial Services and Tokai Financial Services. John spent 22 years with Hewlett-Packard Company (HP), as a global account sales manager John attained HP's $1 Billion Achievers Club. John was HP's US, Americas and global credit, collections and accounts receivable manager for 12 years and a member of the Credit Research Foundation. John was President of Micro Systems Leasing and Vice President of lease marketing for Phoenix American. Earlier John was HP's global computer lease marketing and contract sales manager. John studied marketing at LaSalle College, Philadelphia, PA, has a credit certificate from the Robert Morris Association and a team management certificate from the Kellogg School, Northwestern University.
