Credit Philosophy

At Pfizer, Credit & Collections is part of the Global Financial Solutions (GFS) organization, whose mission is to provide world-class business information and system solutions. The three Shared Services locations -- GFS Americas (Memphis, Tenn.), GFS Europe (Dublin, Ireland) and GFS Asia (Dalian, China) -- strive to deliver the best value to the company at the lowest cost.

This is accomplished through centralization, standardization, and optimization, with a focus on controls, staff development and rewards and recognition.

The GFS Americas Order-to-Cash team services five distinct businesses across the North and Central America. GFS has elevated the importance of Credit Risk Assessment, and this separate group has established a formal quarterly review program for all customers with exposure over a certain threshold, giving us a very high level of confidence in our receivable portfolio.

We believe in cross-functional teams and actively engage our internal business partners in the trade/customer service, sales and finance organizations to solve business issues. We also work closely with our European and Asian counterparts in order to ensure global standardization of policies and processes wherever possible.
